TD minister’s guest house at Senapati burnt down

IMPHAL, June 2: Unknown miscreants burnt down a residential guest house of the TD and Veterinary minister DD Thaisii late last night.

According to a relative of the minister, the incident occurred around 11:30 pm last night when about 30 miscreants came knocking at the door of the guest house and asked those inside to leave the place immediately and warned of dire consequences if they failed to do so.

The minister’s relative further revealed that there were only three family members including an infant inside the house and all of them fled to neighbouring house when the miscreants started setting the house on fire.

The sources further said the miscreants were armed with blunt and sharp objects and started dismantling the properties inside and later set fire to the guest house which spreads to another building of the minister.

A room was completely burnt in the arson.
The attempts of the fire department men to control the fire failed and property estimated to be over Rs. 3 crores was lost in the fire.

Further, after the incident the un-burnt building of the Minister has now been put under vigil using the concerned police.
